Chalk Works is the trading name of Tim Chalk’s studio. Tim Chalk is a sole practitioner, but over the years the scope of his work has expanded and the capacity of the studio to undertake projects on a considerable scale has grown. This has been possible by gradually building up a network of associates, assistants and subcontractors, working in the same and complementary areas of expertise. This allows Tim to assemble a team expressly for the project in hand, and to tackle work on a huge variety of scales.

Tim Chalk’s starting point in Community arts over twenty years ago provided the foundation to an approach characterised by a sensitivity to the client’s needs and the physical context of the work, and a willingness to discuss and adapt his ideas to fit the situation.

Technical expertise has grown to meet the challenges of new work and this has in turn led the studio into new areas of practice, and Chalk Works now contributes to the activities of Architects, Exhibition designers, Museum Curators, Advertising Photographers, and many others, including private clients wishing to commission individual artworks.
